Stormous said she was able to gain access to Coca-Cola’s equipment and steal the information without the company knowing it. Coca-Cola said it had launched an urgent investigation and had already called the police.
Reportedly, the hack came after the group published a survey asking which company to target. Coca-Cola was the most voted, followed by Mattel (the company that makes the famous Barbie).
Very confusing in the images leaked by this Russian group is how much they are asking to sell this stolen data. If you look at the picture where they advertise stealing and selling data, the breaks make the price confusing. It appears to be saying that getting this valuable information would be more than 1.6 million bitcoins or $64 million, which are two completely different numbers.
